Redundancy, unfair/constructive dismissal, discrimination are among areas of legal work
in which the public may now go straight to a barrister rather than having to go through a solicitor. Employment Law is one of those areas by which I am regulated by the Bar Council to offer
my services directly to the public under the Direct Public Access rules.
The Bar Council are there to protect you the public in the provision of the services
of barristers and to further the better administration of justice.

The point of the direct access scheme is people fighting cases more cheaply and more effectively.
Barristers can now carry out "one off" pieces of legal work:
giving opinions on the strength of your case and/or what level of compensation is at stake;
drafting applications to Employment Tribunal/drafting responses for employers;
settling witness statements / advising on what evidence you will need;
representing you before an Employment Tribunal;
advising you on an appeal / drafting the appeal paperwork;
representing you before the Employment Appeal Tribunal and higher courts.
